This week’s session was done indoor (except for the Petting Zoo visit). We’re facing a very bad haze here in Klang Valley & some of us were not in an excellent health condition. Aunt Saliza suggested a place called 3C Complex in Subang Jaya. I’ve heard & passed by that place a few times but have yet to check it out myself. So we called the complex’s management office for an enquiry and a friendly officer, Pn Haini entertained us warmly.
To those whose unfamiliar with this place, 3C (Children Creativity Centre) Complex is located in SS13, Subang Jaya very near & at the row as Sunway Pyramid & Lagoon. This children complex is owned by MPSJ and it is the first government owned children creativity centre build in Malaysia. The huge complex has a kindi & day care (with a long waiting list I was told), various activity classes for children & adults, auditoriums, indoor garden, library, petting zoo, summer camp site & many more to describe.
We booked the indoor garden for our Story Telling & Public Speaking activity. Aunt Dina was the instructor for this week and she brought a mini singing microphone with her (thanks!). As usual, we started off with our circle time & introduction. Then, continued with Dora hugs, Elmo giant book & Madeline touching story (I believe everyone will be more thrilled if Alicia is in the mood of telling us the story..she reads this book in rhyme..so sweet!).
For public speaking, the kids were told to describe about their favorite toy and why they love it with some mini Q&A with their friends & parents. This session were dominated by the older toddlers..hehe! Congrates to Aliya, Amna, Alicia, Irfan & Arisya. The young ones, as in those 3 years & below were pretty cranky already at that time.

We head to the café for a quick brunch before heading to the Petting Zoo. It was a quick one since there were only so little food left for us to buy, sigh! Nasi lemak, kuey tiow & milo ice will do!
After about half an hour at the café, we walk to the Petting Zoo. The kids had fun despite some shocking experiences. It’s a ‘Petting Zoo’, so the sheeps, deer, goat, chicken, parrot, rabbit, ostrich & etc LOVES to be pat! One of the kids, Aliya chased a deer until the deer was afraid of her..so cute!

** Looking forward to next week’s activity: Fishing aka ‘menceduk’ fish & a surprise for lil Ms Ariana!!!

After the last FPD, Aliya wanted to borrow Alicia's Madeline book. Biasalah, yang sorang nak pinjam dan yang sorang lagi lokek. So dua-dua merajuk lepas tu. Back at home, I explained to Alicia why Aliya wanted to borrow the book. She couldn't understand that not every kid has the same set of books and toys at home, and that borrowing means that you'll get to see your favorite thing back. To cut things short, I'll try to remember to bring the book next FPD so that Aliya or someone else can borrow and enjoy it. I explained to Alicia that she already has 3 Madeline books in the set, so she can still read the other 2.
ReplyDeleteMadeline books stuck a chord in Alicia as:
i. Madeline is a little girl
ii. She gets into all sorts of misadventures
iii. We read the book in a rhyming way at home
I also recommend Edward Lear's collection of nonsense limericks for toddlers and pre-schoolers as its written in a very sing-song manner.
Sorry.... I have no idea why my user ID was mentioned as "He who is incompatible with tools". On the other hand, its very self-explanatory isn't it?...
ReplyDeletehahaha....itulah pasal!!! so are u really incompatible with tool???
ReplyDeleteit's great that u mommies share this wonderful ideas with others via blog..Wish can join but have to agree that it's better to have a small group of kids than a large group... Congrats to every mommies involved in KFPD..:)
ReplyDeleteThanks a for the tips dear "He who is incompatible with tools" hehehe... While u explained to Alicia the good part of borrowing and lending, I tried to make Aliya understand why we must not be overly upset when people refuse to let us borrow their stuff, especially when its their favorite. But she, was having trouble accepting it.. Hahaha.
ReplyDeleteNevertheless, it would be very lovely if Aliya would get to borrow the book, but only if its really okay with Alicia. But she wont have to actually, as i think it would be even better if Aliya could listen Alicia read it to her. Someone said she reads it the best ;)
thanks Emly.. InsyaAllah one day anak2 kita boleh hangout sama2..with good coordination, maybe a larger group of play date could be a success..
